I am Nigel Westwood. Founder of DesignPlace, lover of Finance and Operations, Runner and Investor.
Since 2016 I have been based in the Mediterranean city of Barcelona and working on the company I founded DesignPlace (formerly La Nostra Ciutat). Before this, I have previously worked in the finance industry in London, as well as run several different eCommerce companies whilst travelling.
Since starting my first business at the age of 21, I have been constantly involved in the world of finance and business operations. I completed a degree in Business Administration at the University of Bath, specialising in Banking and Finance. Since then, I have founded companies with combined sales of over €10 million and thousands of customers.
In 2021 I became interested in Angel Investing and since then have make several investments into early stage ventures in the Ai and AgriTech spaces, as well as supporting start-up accelerators in Barcelona.
Outside of my business interests, I am a keen runner, having competed in several of the worlds toughest ultra marathons including UTMB and VDA in the Pyrenees. I am lucky enough to live with my partner Guro in a beautiful city where I can practice my Spanish and eat some of the worlds best food!
